If you’re considering running to the store for over the counter tick supplies, think again. Those products may work for a few days, but eventually, you’ll see ticks hopping around your yard just like in the past. The only solution is to take care of the problem at its core. You need to deal with the young and adult ticks, preventing a tick infestation from returning. That’s the mentality we have at Mosquito Squad, and it’s why our proven tick treatment is so effective. We combine multiple treatment methods to get rid of nymph and mature ticks to keep your yard protected for the long run.
First, we want to destroy mature ticks, so you can your family can return to your yard without concern. To do this, we use our barrier spray treatment. We take backpack mist blowers and apply an EPA-approved solution to your yard’s perimeter, and then spray tick-gathering locations like tall grass and around the tree line. We’re usually able to finish the job in less time than it takes to order a pizza or finish a TV show, and once we’re done, the solution dries in 30 minutes so that you can enjoy the yard quickly.
We also produce an in-house repellent, made with essential oils. This treatment is completely natural, and it’s a gentler option than our traditional barrier spray. The two main differences are the effectiveness and length of protection. A traditional spray kills approximately 90 percent of ticks, while an all-natural spray repels a bit over 80 percent. An organic spray lasts for up to 14 days—depending on weather conditions—and a traditional spray offers up to 21 days of protection.
Both options are backed by the Mosquito Squad’s guarantee. Tell us if your treatment results aren’t what you expected. We’ll come back and respray the yard at no charge. If the respray doesn’t work—or you don’t want it—let us know and you'll get back every penny you spent with us. That’s how confident we are in the quality of our work.
Getting rid of nymph ticks is crucial for long-term pest control. We begin by finding places where a female tick may have left eggs, and then we treat or remove them. This gets rid of most of the young ticks, but we take it a step further and place biodegradable tick tubes in the yard.
Our tick tubes are filled with cotton that has insecticide on it. Mice take the cotton to build shelter, and the insecticide gets into their blood. Young ticks love to bite mice as their first blood meal, but unfortunately for them, when they bite the insecticide-treated mice, the ticks are killed off promptly.
